How does HA fillers work?
As we age the fat, muscles, bone and skin on our face begin to thin. This loss of volume leads to either a sunken or sagging appearance with fine lines, wrinkles and folds on our facial skin. HA is a substance of natural origin which is safe, completely biocompatible and biodegradable. It attracts water which allows skin to become more hydrated and stimulates our body to produce new collagen. Also adds volume to the face and lips.
How is the treatment performed?
It is an office procedure. After numbing and cleansing the skin thoroughly, filler is gently injected into the skin in small amounts with an ultrafine needle. The product is selected according to the area of skin to be treated.
How long the effects last?
The effects may last upto a year to two. Since results may vary, be sure to discuss your expectations with your treating doctor.
What are the Side effects?
Mild injection related side effects such as little irritation, swelling, itching, tenderness or discoloration (bruising ) may be seen but these are temporary. Most patients return to normal activities almost immediately after the treatment.

Pre- and Post-Procedure Instructions
- Avoid taking Aspirin / Ecosprin / Disprin, or any other pain killer, Vitamin E and other blood thinning drugs at least 5 days prior to the treatment. This is important to avoid any oozing from the area
- Do not take steam or sauna for 7 days after the procedure
- Do not massage the treated area for 1 week
- Avoid exercising or lifting heavy weights for a day
- Avoid threading / waxing / bleaching (parlour activities) for 15 days after the treatment
- If lips are injected, do not kiss for 24 hours
